SPORTS LEAGUE CO-ORDINATORS - PART-TIME POSITIONS
USC hires conveners from time to time. Feel free to submit your resume at anytime and USC will contact you when we have a position available.
Coordinators represent USC on the court or the field. As such, it is important that coordinators are outgoing, energetic, reliable, knowledgeable about sports, and ready to promote USC. Coordinators must have a car and a cell phone.
The amount of hours (i.e. 2 to 5 hours per night) will ultimately depend on the amount of players signed up. No games are played during the Christmas Holidays, on statutory holidays or March Break. Conveners are not paid if they cannot attend a game.
Job Duties Include:
- Notify USC at least 1 day in advance if you cannot attend the game (i.e. due to vacation, not feeling well), such that we can find a substitute.
- Have equipment set up for designated start time.
- Email scores to info@urbansports.ca within 24 hours.
- Promote USC and any upcoming events.
- Transport equipment to and from the game.
- Prepare playing field or court for play. Check for and fix any safety hazards. Clean up after the game.
- Answer questions. Must be knowledgeable about the sport, including rules and set up.
- Keep track of time.
- Have a first aid kit on hand including cold packs to be supplied by USC.
- Be fun and outgoing, sportsmanlike, confident, respectful, independent and reliable.
Re-numeration: $10/hour. Coordinators will also receive free league play in one sport if a spot is available and depending on scheduling they may not be able to play every week with their team (e.g. if their team is playing at a different school than where the convener is assigned). Conveners are not paid if they cannot make it to a match or if a school is cancelled.
How to apply: Please e-mail your cover letter and resume to Michelle at info@urbansports.ca.
